U.S. SENATE COMMITTEE ON APPROPRIATIONS
Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, and Science

The U.S. Senators listed below will make decisions regarding the funding of the Coverdell Act. Please contact them, especially if one of them is your Senator, and tell them that the Coverdell Act is important to you and that you want it to be fully funded. If you have friends or family members who are represented by these Senators, please tell them about the Coverdell Act, and ask them to contact their Senator. Everyone who contacts a Senator gives America's public crime labs a better chance at adequate funding.

Your message doesn't need to be complex. Just tell your Senator that while DNA funding is necessary and important, crime labs also need the Coverdell Act to be fully funded. You support the full funding of Coverdell because public safety, the justice system, and homeland security all depend on crime labs, and need labs that can keep up with caseloads and perform the timely examination of many kinds of evidence, not just DNA. Be sure to include your full name and address in messages to your Senator. You can see a sample letter here.

Do not send messages by letter. The security measures following the anthrax attack on Congress cause mail to be delayed and letters are often inadvertently destroyed by the process. Fax, call, or send an e-mail using the Web form links below. Please let us know you have sent a message by e-mailing us at crime@supportcrimelabs.com.
